The project “Cross-Border Cooperation in Forest Fire Fighting” opened unknown borders and created inseparable bonds for the participants of the training

 

The second part of three modules of the training program under the project "Cross-Border Cooperation in Forest Fires Fighting", implemented by the Association of South-Western Municipalities in partnership with the Center for Development of the South-East Region, Republic of North Macedonia, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg - IPA CBC Programme between the Republic of Bulgaria – the Republic of North Macedonia was completed.

The host was the project partner from the Republic of North Macedonia. The three modules of the training were conducted in the city of Strumica with help from the local fire brigade. The participants were challenged to deal with a fire in an earthquake, and rescue victims in a high-rise building damaged by earthquakes.

At the last sixth training, a competition was held between the teams of the municipal voluntary formations from the Republic of Bulgaria, and the professional firefighters from the Republic of North Macedonia sportily tested their skills in three disciplines. At the last training, the project partner organizers presented the certificates for a successfully completed capacity-building training cycle.
