The aims of the project are increasing citizens’ awareness of their rights in the decision-making process at local level; stimulation of civil activity in the decision-making process; increasing the capacity of the local authorities for working with citizens.

The specific objective is increasing the role of citizens and applying the principles of direct democracy in the municipalities of the region of Blagoevgrad.

The target groups included municipal leadership, municipal experts and councilors.
