This project aims to strengthen the interaction of civil society and local government by developing and implementing effective mechanisms to create good, fair and transparent governance for the benefit of citizens It envisages a set of activities, the sequence of which is selected so as to ensure the achievement of the objectives, results and indicators set in the project

1. Preparation of an Analysis of the obstacles to civic participation in the process of implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation and study of their degree of impact, which will answer the question of how to increase civic participation and improve the quality of governance

2. Organizing an information campaign to stimulate civic participation in the processes of policy implementation and monitoring

3. Conducting trainings for municipal employees and informal CSO leaders for capacity building for joint implementation and monitoring of policies

The target group of the project are employees of the municipality, NGOs, representatives of business and civil society

The project will be implemented in partnership with the municipality of Slivnitsa

As a result of the implementation of the project activities the interaction between the administration and the citizens and the business will increase and their activity in the implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation will increase including making recommendations for improving the service delivery processes, fighting corruption preventing a conflict of interest and abuse of office compliance with ethical standards by civil servants and will improve the socio-economic environment as a result of more open and responsible governance.

Within the project “Cross-Border Cooperation in Forest Fire Fighting” co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, on 16.12.2021, in the business hall of the Hotel “Sirius” Strumica – Republic North Macedonia, the second meeting of the project team was held.

The main purpose of the team meeting was to discuss the current activities of the project, the direction of their movement, as well as the plans that will help in the implementation of future activities.

The announced tender procedure for procurement of firefighting equipment was discussed, as well as the next steps related to the tender.

The team also gave his positive opinion for the successfully held Workshop for creating a cross-border network for prevention and response to natural and environmental dangers and the prepared Memorandum of Cooperation.

On 23rd February 2017 at 10:30 in the conference hall at hotel Monte Cristo in Blagoevgrad, the Association of South-Western Municipalities will present the new cross border project “Think Composting – dedication to the organic full circle”.

The project is co-funded by EU through the INTERREG - IPA Cross-border Programme CCI 2014TC16I5CB006

The project partners of the project AgriGo4Cities have been on the Kick off meeting on 14th and 15th February. The host of the meeting was Municipality of Velenje, Slovenia. Welcome speech was by ZRC SAZU director Dr. Oto Luthar. Also the project manager Dr. Jani Kozina made a project presentation

The project team was part of a study visit to the urban gardens in Velenje and made evaluation and discussion after that.

A presentation of Interreg Danube Transnational Programme by Joint Secretariat Project Officer Mr. Johannes Gabriel was made and he answered to the question of the project team.
